What's The Difference Between Bay & Bow Windows?
Typically, bay windows are composed of three glass panels that project from a home, adding space and exterior appeal. The central window is often larger, serving as the ‘picture window,’ while the flanking ones are slightly smaller. Bay windows extend from the main house at a 25-45-degree angle, providing ample floor space, though narrower than bow windows.
Bow windows typically feature four or five identical windows angled at around 10 degrees, creating an elegant curved facade. As bow windows have more glass panels than bay windows, they admit more light and expand the living area further.

Professional, skilled, great communication from the on-site team - honestly, the best workmen I’ve ever had. They left the place tidy and neat. Thanks guys! They did a great job on a dreary, winter’s day with a smile. I love the new porch, which was a decent price. Honestly though, the sales guy Tom and the crew of Cal, Jake and Aaron were great. After having had a bad experience before with a different company, I’ll be using Phair Windows to replace my windows in the near future as well.

Excellent prices, excellent window fitters and nothing was too much trouble. Left all clean and tidy. Thoroughly recommendPosted on Deborah GowersNovember 28, 2025. Excellent service from Phair. I had several damaged and misted double glazing panels replaced. Michael, Lincoln and Jason did a great job, friendly and professional, left the area clean and tidy. Also measured up for a roof panel replacement with very difficult access. I would definitely recommend and use again.Posted on Jazzy BainsNovember 24, 2025. Phair Windows and where do I start… I’ve experienced Windows sales people who come over and show you a sample window out from their boot. Show how thermally efficient it is. I’ve had Safe Style, Anglian and Everest visit my old house and new. (These companies are now under one roof). They sell you the dream. Try to make you sign up on the spot by calling their Manager. From experience the windows could be the best ever but it’s the way the fitters fit them is what makes them efficient. Now enough of the waffle…. I looked up Phair Windows via Google reviews. Tom came and visited and he was straight to the point. Told me the price and no dramatic sales pitch. Suggested that we have a hole cut out in the living room and have a window fitted. This was because the window we had was awkwardly positioned in the living room. So instead of bricking up and centralising the window we could have ‘twin’ windows side by side . He sold me the dream and gave him the deposit. I have to admit I was worried as I had given the deposit and what the end product would look like. I made a visit to their show room and they seemed legitimate enough. I only come across this company via Google reviews and had no friends or family that actually had any dealings with them. One of their surveyors, Jake came around and checked if everything was ok and suggested a few tweaks. Another friendly chap. We worked together via email on some window designs and how they would end up looking. Fast forward 8 weeks or so and the fitters came promptly on the scheduled date of install. I got to be honest I wasn’t holding my breath because of my past experiences with Safe Style. They came, they fitted and went. There was a slight technicality with the builder they employed to make the cut out in the living room. This was due to the heavy rain and even though I was not happy but I suppose that was out of anyone’s control. Jake came along on the day to apologise for the builder not doing the job on the set date and honoured me the duraboards for the window sills free of charge for the inconvenience caused. When the builder eventually came he cut out the wall and matched the arched brick work against the other window to perfection. He screwed on the window to the brickwork but was slightly protruding out but barely noticeable. This was because there was only one layer of brick and looks like he couldn’t go further back to match the other window. After his job was done the lads came back to complete the window and fit the new sill. As the window was slightly set back from the living room the cill did not look aesthetically pleasing. Without hesitation they went back to their depo and brought back a wider cill which fitted perfectly all within an hour. All these obstacles was probably due to having a window cut out but these lads overcame them all and acted professionally and kept me in the loop throughout the installation process. They are window fitters and not builders and have done an astounding job. They are a true credit to the company. It’s a shame I don’t recall all their names but hand on heart they were all pleasant gentleman who worked as it was their own home. I did have reservations from the very start of employing a window company that I never heard of but they made me feel reassured throughout the window installation process. I can 101% recommend this company and will approach them in the future when I need windows fitting for a future extension. Great job Phair Windows ❤️Posted on James RileyNovember 18, 2025.
