Stylish uPVC Porch Replacement With Composite Tiled Roof

The original rosewood-style uPVC porch was still practical, but it had become tired, dated and no longer complemented the property. It featured full-height glazing to the front and side, a side entrance door and an older pitched roof.

Planning and Design
Tom, our sales manager, visited the property to discuss the project and provide an initial quotation. Once the homeowner decided to proceed, a full survey was arranged to take accurate measurements and ensure the replacement porch would fit the existing structure correctly.
Before the new porch installation
The existing base was suitable for reuse, allowing our team to focus on replacing the structure, glazing, door and roof while keeping disruption to a minimum.
The new design retained the full-height glazing to the front and side, but introduced a crisp white uPVC finish. The homeowner also wanted the guttering to tie in neatly with the new porch. As part of the design, some of the existing guttering and box guttering was re-routed into the new porch structure.
Our office team produced CAD drawings for the proposed design. Once these were approved, the windows and uPVC door were manufactured in-house at our Leicester factory.
Building Process
The old porch was carefully dismantled, and the removed materials were taken away by our building team for recycling.
The replacement porch was built on site from scratch rather than installed as a prefabricated kit. This allowed our team to create a made-to-measure fit and ensure the structure, roof, glazing and finishing details worked together properly.
Code 4 lead flashing was used to bridge the connection between the house and the new porch, helping to prevent water from getting into the joint. This provided a more durable, weatherproof detail than using traditional felt, which can deteriorate over time and potentially lead to leaks.
The installation included:

- Code 4 lead flashing between the house and porch

The build was completed in just two days. The composite roof tiles provide a durable, low-maintenance finish that is easy to clean and less likely to crack or break than traditional roof tiles.
The inside of the roof was finished with white uPVC shiplap cladding instead of plaster. This creates a clean, practical finish that handles changes in temperature and moisture well, without requiring painting or extensive maintenance.
The Finished Result
The new porch has made a clear difference to the front of the property. The white uPVC frames create a brighter, cleaner appearance, while the full-height glazing allows plenty of natural light into the entrance space.
